I live in the Great South-east of Sunny Queensland just outside the city of Brisbane. I was born in 1948 in Brisbane. I attended the University of Queensland as a mature-age student and a BA and a post-grad Dip Ed. I have worked a variety of jobs and presently work for Disability Services Qld as a residential care officer for intellectually disabled adults and work a rotating 24/7 roster.
I lived in Taiwan for 18 months in 1983-84 teaching English and studying Mandarin. I also taught English in Japan in 1997. On the way home I went to Nepal via Thailand for 3 months. I took formal Refuge as a Buddhist in 1976.
In the early 70's I travelled widely in eastern Australia by motorcycle, car and thumb. I have also travelled in northern India in 1991 and lived in Melbourne from 1977 to 1981.
I have been married and divorced twice. I have a 22 year old son from a defacto relationship.
My interests include Blues music, computer gaming, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese and Tibetan medical systems.
The name I sign my entries with on Wiki, Bodhirakshita, is a Sanscrit name given to me by the Tibetan lama, Zasep Tulku. It's Tibetan translation is Jangchub Sung. English = Protector of Enlightenment. My Chinese name is Gao Bo, gaoxing de gao, boshi de bo. Japanese - Takahiro.
