What is the purpose of this and subsidiary articles? I think there is a lot of unnecessary duplication while making some extraordinarily unmaintainable pages. How does it differ implicitly from List of Israelis, except being constructed the other way up? There are separate lists elsewhere for Israeli music, etc... it just seems to be excessive for the tiny country (as much as one may be proud of it)! Why do we call it Israeli people when for the most part it is Israeli celebrities or personalities? -- jnothman 04:52, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Hi jnothman, from your question/s it's clear you have not fully grasped the difference/s between (1) Aticles; (2) Lists; and (3)Categories on Wikipedia. This is not an "article" this is a category, which is also not a "list". Now, there may be times when "Lists" of people can be added to categories. But right now, it seems that enough Wikipedia Users feel that these categories can grow, so let's see where that takes us. IZAK 08:17, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Why is this in parent category "Jews"?? Not all Israeli nationals are Jews! Even if Israel defines itself as the "Jewish state", it is misleading to have non-jews with a parent category of Jews pointing toward them. TreveXtalk03:08, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
