Daco-Romanian continuity reflected in this article
[edit]The lead section of this article, and the layout of the initial four sections, seems to imply that Daco-Romanian continuity is a fact, whereas that article says that it's one of several valid theories. Even this article states "Roman conquest of Dacia stands at the base of the origin of Romanians." at a later point, so it stands to reason that the article should not have separate "Prehistory" and "Dacia" sections, but rather a single section that would explain this in a more neutral manner. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 09:13, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
Also, it looks like the main article for the topic, now a redirect Prehistory of Romania, possibly renamed to Early history of Romania, History of Romania before the Romanians or similar, should be created in order to expand on the topic, which would go a long way in being able to reduce the amount of chatter in the top part of Template:History of Romania. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 09:20, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

What's the Indonesian link all about?
[edit]I mean this, it's at the bottom of the article:

First mention on Romanians
[edit]Taking into account that the subject of the article is the History of Romania, do we need to dedicate a long section to random references to the Vlachs living anywhere in Southeastern Europe? A major problem that the section contains fringe theories (not mentioned in academic works about the history of Romania), like the alleged Hellenic chronicle and its Vlachs. The section also presents PoVs as facts, associating obscure populations mentioned in early medieval Muslim writers as living somewhere between the Mediterranean and the Ural Mountains as Vlachs. Why do we need to know in an article about the history of Romanian that Blachernae in Constantinople may have been named for the Vlachs? This piece of information is not mentioned in standard literature about Romania's history. I think 90% of the section should be deleted and the rest could be integrated in other sections.
