Section on residence halls
[edit]The list of buildings takes up a lot of space, but none of it is referenced and it is unclear whether these buildings have any historical or cultural significance. Simply listing names upon names of buildings is inappropriate for an encyclopedia. I propose deleting these sections if nothing changes. Melchior2006 (talk) 20:38, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
- Since nobody commented on this, I will delete the lists. --Melchior2006 (talk) 19:09, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
Notable alumni vs references in fictional works
[edit]Carmela Soprano, a fictional character, is listed under other notable alumni. Perhaps this should be deleted or moved to a new section such as references in fiction. Canus (talk) 07:05, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
- I think it would be wise to remove it. There isn't enough people for a fiction section. 68.173.170.185 (talk) 04:48, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
Rankings section
[edit]The Rankings section of the article should be removed. There are currently no citations and no other university has a rankings section talking about the schools rankings. There is also negative critisms of ranking systems which should be considered. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._News_%26_World_Report_Best_Colleges_Ranking#Criticism 68.173.170.185 (talk) 04:44, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Due to lack of any citation and comment I will delete the Rankings section. 68.173.170.185 (talk) 02:15, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- Most articles about U.S. colleges and universities include information about their rankings. Sometimes it's in an explicit "Rankings" or "Reputation" section and sometimes it's included in a broader "Academics" section. The ranking sources are also clearly identified in the text. You're welcome to add additional bibliographic information but the original sources are easily identified by readers and editors. ElKevbo (talk) 04:38, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hey Elkevbo, after looking at a bunch more university articles you are absolutely correct. Lets keep the rankings section and expand upon it with new data as well as more data from other ranking sources. 68.173.170.185 (talk) 03:06, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

Administrative staff
[edit]Does anyone know where we can get accurate data on how many administrative staff Montclair State University has? Academic Banana 5 (talk) 22:44, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- The university's institutional research office publishes detailed information about employees. ElKevbo (talk) 22:56, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, I will update the numbers and cite this. Would the total number of administrative staff be 3,662? Academic Banana 5 (talk) 00:32, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
- Also who would the publisher in this case be? would it just be NJ OSHE? Academic Banana 5 (talk) 00:38, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
