- The arts centre is named after the artist L. S. Lowry who is famous for his paintings of Salford and the surrounding area. The Lowry Centre contains a permanent exhibition of his work, as well as a changing programme visiting exhibitions. -- Solipsist 11:24, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
