Cleanup request
[edit]The ordo and thus the durational value of specific notes were indicated by ligature groupings and the mode. The article needs some explination of the ligature system and ordines, and mention of fractio modi and extensio modi. Hyacinth 08:35, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I appreciate that there are some helpful illustrations in this article. Not to be a pig... but it could use some more. This could help clarify the article. Gingermint (talk) 00:53, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Disambiguation
[edit]Ordo redirects to this page. However, I was looking for a different kind of Ordo (liturgical device). ramakesava 11:30, 2 October 2006 (GMT+1)
- I have changed ordo into a disambiguation page, as this is unlikely to be the most common usage. I don't know what this device is, but please add it to the disambiguation page if it appears in an article (or create an article for it if it doesn't). Rigadoun (talk) 15:34, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Expert help
[edit]In all modesty, I have removed the banner calling for an expert to clean up this article, and have set to work doing so.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 01:46, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
It's 2010 as I write this and this article is still in need of expert help. It isn't so bad as to be called a mess... but it is something that's a close cousin of a mess. Gingermint (talk) 00:51, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry for having dropped the ball, now a year and a half ago. I'm still here, and have just made some changes which I hope will address your concerns. However, it would be helpful if you could be a bit more specific about what is needed. It seems to me that expert help in the subject is less needed than a good cleanup of the article structure and language. I also note your other request for more examples, and I agree that this would be helpful—especially an example or two of what the medieval notation looks like.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 04:49, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
