Thomas vs Tomas
[edit]"Thomas Brolin" gets more hits on google, plus that's how he is referred to by FIFA. What is the correct Swedish spelling? I know it's "Thomas Ravelli", for example, so I assume both names are the same. --Dryazan 13:56, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Hmmm, when he played over here in England I could have sworn he was Tomas Brolin. Before I moved the page I checked the Swedish Wikipedia (sv:Tomas Brolin) which spells it without the 'h', and followed their lead. I could well be wrong though. Qwghlm 18:29, Mar 20, 2005 (UTC)
- More: A Google search of the Swedish FA's website [1] suggests Tomas is how he should be spelt. Maybe we should find a Swedish football fan here and ask for sure? Qwghlm 18:33, Mar 20, 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, it seems like Tomas is the correct Swedish spelling. I'll move the page... Until someone provides evidence that it's really "Thomas", that is. --Dryazan 19:18, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)
It is Tomas without an "h". There should also be pointed out in the article text that his career did not end due to weight problems (he was always a bit on the chubby side), but rather due to a severe ankle injury that he suffered during a European Championship qualifying game in Stockholm in the autumn of 1994. He unfortunately never reached his pre-injury level (made the "World Cup Team" in 1994) again, and was thus sold off to Leeds.
Planning on seriously cutting this back
[edit]This article is plagued with tone issues (it is almost fawning in tone) and barely sourced. I'm planning on seriously scaling it back until some actual references are found for the various opinion-style statements which make up the majority of the article right now. I'm not even going to start on its use of exclamation marks in non-quoted prose. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 15:33, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Clean-up
[edit]I attempted a clean-up on this article but its taking me more time than expected. I cut a lot of unneeded details as well as re-organized the information into a friendlier format. I also renamed the sections to more appropriate titles. Please feel free to condense and add sources where needed. Thanks Sid1977 (talk) 07:31, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Clean-up Complete/More Sources
[edit]I finished the clean-up on this article. I fixed most of the 'tone' errors. I also eliminated all unnecessary information. If I took out something important, please add it. This article is in dire need of sources. Please add them. Thanks, Sid1977 (talk) 02:18, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Tidying up
[edit]Done some more on it. It's a lot more truthful now and it reads a bit less like it was written by Brolin himself. But there is still more to be done. 213.114.54.110 (talk) 10:08, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
