Discography
[edit]Because Fernow has such a lengthy discography, which has now taken up the majority of this article, perhaps we could place it into a different page. See for instance Merzbow discography Joeyvandernaald (talk) 13:44, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
Agreed, I don't think there should be a partial discography, or a discography that should treat an ultra-limited tape with the same weight as, for example, Bermuda Drain or The History of AIDS. Is it within Wikipedia standards to link to Fernow's Discogs page? Honkinonbobo (talk) 20:07, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
Dominick Fernow or Prurient?
[edit]Dominick Fernow is now the primary artist for a number of successful and popular projects, including Vatican Shadow, Exploring Jezebel, and Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement to name a few. Because this article is listed as a biography of a living person, wouldn't it be more appropriate to rename the article 'Dominick Fernow' and make his work with Prurient just one of the sub-categories here? Links to far right
[edit]Having listened to Prurient for some years i was alarmed to learn, after looking deeper into Dominick Fernow that there are fairly wel substantiated links to far right individuals that raise concerns and I think should be included on his bio. There is a mention in the bio about how Prurient has been written about in a number of publications, some of which have deleted or altered their articles since this information came to light. 82.44.6.40 (talk) 00:05, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Some editors who seem to be clear Fernow partisans keep removing these references from this page. Rainforestspiritualenslavement (talk) 21:49, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
The primary source on all of the accusations is neither reputable nor even notable, and it's the one article all of other sources on the matter cite. That has been the case for roughly a calendar year, as of this writing. See Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. 2600:1700:B5D1:530:5549:919D:EECF:9374 (talk) 17:39, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Who cares if the person is notable? The article exposing this stuff uses all primary sources and clear references. to make its case. It absolutely belongs here. Also notably Fernow has never publicly denied its contents. Rainforestspiritualenslavement (talk) 21:48, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia editors and administrators care, and our policies protecting living individuals does not allow for inclusion of such poorly-sourced content. You cannot add material to articles sourced to self-published sources such as substack. -- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:12, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- All articles about people on Wikipedia MUST be notable. This is a nonnegotiable rule (see WP:BIO). Additionally, extra care must be given to using primary sources, as stated by WP:USINGPRIMARY. If such claims are true, then multiple, WP:Reliable sources will be found, and could be used. Until then, self-published claims cannot be used here. Zinnober9 (talk) 22:13, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
References to Fernow's well-documented connections to far right, racist, and Nazi musical artists are being deleted from this entry without proper explanation. The source for this information is clear and based on ample publicly-available information. https://jeanhugueskabuiku.substack.com/p/about-vatican-shadow-link-with-the Here is it re-reported on a mainstream music website: https://thequietus.com/articles/30216-dominick-fernow-vatican-shadow-questions-raised-around-collaborators Rainforestspiritualenslavement (talk) 22:17, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- Except it has been explained. You choosing to disregard Wikipedia policies does not make the removals unexplained. Have you reviewed the policy links that have been provided to you here and on your talk page?-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:29, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- The link to The Quietus article specifically states "tQ acknowledges that it has extensively covered Dominick Fernow's work in the past and not sufficiently raised or researched the above-mentioned issues." As the material has been removed on WP:BLP grounds, you need consensus to include it. I suggest you start a thread at WP:BLPN if you would like to elicit further input from other editors.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 23:13, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- You are actively misreading that statement. That statement is TQ being accountable for not having *previously* examined the information they are now re-reporting and confirming. Personally, I find it pretty weird you're defending this so hard when a) the artist hasn't denied it b) none of the material in the piece has been shown to be incorrect! Rainforestspiritualenslavement (talk) 23:38, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- but yes i will start a thread, thank you Rainforestspiritualenslavement (talk) 23:39, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

Relisted at BLPN due to recent edits. --Chris | Crazycomputers (talk) 19:20, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
- Addendum to previous edit: The Pitchfork article I deleted (source #11 as of the prior edit) hardly even mentions Fernow in passing, much less his personal history--it wouldn't have even stood on its own. 74.196.6.231 (talk) 19:53, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
