Trivia

[edit]

See WP:NOT#TRIVIA. Please stop adding nonnotable minute details. --Evb-wiki (talk) 17:26, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Now that I see this... It's trivia that's being added. And per WP policies should be removed Cap020570 (talk) 05:03, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Armenian heritage

[edit]

This line in the article says: "She is of partly Armenian heritage" - source provided through the link on her Twitter page, where nothing is clearly mentioned about her heritage at all, let alone Armenian. I suggest the Armenian heritage lines should be removed until someone has got 100% proved source for that. The energy of Armenophiles, who are ready to declare the Armenian roots of almost every celebrity is amazing of course, but this time it demands proof. 89.138.109.175 (talk) 07:41, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removed for the time being.Rtdixon86 (talk) 23:36, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You may have removed it, but someone scorned you and brought it back, again with no proof at all - no proved source whatsoever. It is on the second line of the first paragraph of "Early Life" chapter. I guess it should be taken out again. 217.132.78.93 (talk) 22:11, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

For any editors out there, this is from her Twitter page (DitaVonTeese):

At eurovision, The Armenians are killing me with their hair and especially the fierce cateye liner! LOVE! I am part Armenian, in fact. 11:03 AM May 15th, 2009 via web

To verify the information, you will have to take the steps that I did and click through her history of tweets (to the exact time and date). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.190.203.27 (talk) 07:54, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dita is Armenian, well, part Armenian. Her grandmother is Armenian as stated on her tweeter website. Anyone arguing this point is just ridiculous. So, I mention the fact her grandmother is Armenian. Apparently, she was Armenian orphan that was adopted into a American family, which makes perfect sense in many respects. I hope that cheers up all the "haters" and "bigots". I find that most Armenian articles go under a microscope, while others under a telescope, double standard? Absolutely! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.235.12.123 (talkcontribs) 07:22, May 31, 2010

Grandmother on which side? Would like to add, as it's interesting and I love that Wikipedia is the first to outright mention. Also please link proof as otherwise doubters will keep dismissing as rumor. thanks--Aichikawa (talk) 18:58, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alias

[edit]

Is it possible that nowhere in the article is said when did she got this "Von Teese" name, and why?

Um, it's there now.--Aichikawa (talk) 18:56, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A Penthouse pet?

[edit]

Was she on the cover of Dutch or German Penthouse magazine, too? Is she a Penthouse pet? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.118.122.123 (talk) 14:25, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Too much irrelevant information

[edit]

Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of Von Teese, but I have watched this article accumulate more and more irrelevant information. And also too many quotes from her. This is suppose to be an encyclopedia, what's here just seems overboard. Cap020570 (talk) 05:01, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Weird sentence

[edit]

This sentence at the beginning:

She is thought to have helped re-popularize burlesque performance[3] and was once married to Marilyn Manson.[4]

Seems weird to me. For one, personal life hardly belongs right at the beginning, and also, it sounds weird in combination with the mention of her achievement in her field of art. Imagine having sentences like these at the beginning of articles.

"Albert Einstein developed the theory of relativity, and was married to his cousin." "Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest rock singers of all time, and he liked Cliff Richard." "Adolf Hitler was a Nazi dictator responsible for the deaths of millions, and he liked dogs."

Weird? Yes. So is this. I'm not a wikipedian, so I'm not familiar with the correct procedure for these things, but I think it would be highly appropriate if someone changed that sentence.62.245.69.24 (talk) 15:05, 11 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not only soft-core pornographic movies

[edit]

The page says she appeared in soft-core pornographic movies. According to Wikipedia's definition of soft-core, it does not contain explicit images of vaginal penetration. Some of her movies do. I believe the word soft-core should be removed.
